DESIGN: Digital Vending Machine If you thought your local vending machine was nothing more than a big, intrusive machine that sometimes steals your money- think again. Japanese industrial designer Fumie Shibata has created a digital vending machine that interacts with its customers. The machine not only reads the sex and age of the approaching customer, but also gives recommendations and product information prior to purchase.
